May the Real John Kerry Please Stand Up

John Kerry appears to be gaining more and more momentum in the Democratic Primaries. He, basically, has not lost any Primaries. We have seen Howard Dean implode, no surprise. The surprise has been John Edwards. But who is John Kerry? Who is the man who will probably challenge George Bush?

We know he is a decorated Viet Nam war veteran. This has been hyped extensively. Like it matters. The nation elected a draft dodger prior to GWB. The Democrats nominated someone, who went to Viet Nam, but he was surrounded by bodyguards and was there two months. I guess a war record is ancient history. So drop it.

The thing that concerns me about John Kerry, other than him being a socialist (to be polite), is his attitude about the military. He voted against any increases in military spending. He was against modernizing the military. Now, we discover that he wants the US military to be the world's policeman. "I'm an internationalist. I'd like to see our troops dispersed through the world only at the directive of the United Nations."

So, Kerry is an internationalist. That, to me, is scarier than being the world's policeman. By the US giving up sovereignty to the UN, we no longer are Americans. Did we elect anyone at the UN? How does the UN have authority over anything? Although the justification for the invasion of Iraq is debatable, the one thing everyone should agree is that the UN ineffectually dealt with Saddam Hussein. Do we want the UN calling the shots?

The more I learn about John Kerry, the more concerned I become. Although I am no conspiracy theorist, statements like the one he made lends credence to the New World Order conspiracy. We need to get out of the UN and kick the UN out of our country. Being an internationalist is tantamount to treason.

UPDATE: This is a little interesting for those familiar with General Giap.
