You Go Man!

Here is an article that sums up the political problems today.

It sums up nicely alot of things I've been ranting about.

Someone Take Away His Credit Card

In this story on Fox News, it is revealed that Medicare will cost one-third more than the $400 billion budgeted. This should come as no surprise to anyone. Everyone not connected to the Bush Whitehouse knew Medicare would be come an albatross around the budget's neck. These articles here, here, and here foretold how Medicare's cost would be more than President Bush has expected.

As noted here in other posts, how can President Bush call himself a conservative? How can the Democrats say he is cutting education, social security, etc.? President Bush has increased spending on everything from the military to the National Endowment for the Arts. He has yet to cut a major spending program. He is mortgaging this country's financial future to buy votes now. President Bush will leave a mess for someone else to clean up. The only thing the Democrats want to change is to increase taxes on the people, who pay taxes.

Maybe I have been too hard on the President. After all, the President does not make the law; he enforces the law. Our Congress is just as culpable for the budgetary mess we are in. Instead of calling it a day, if there is no legistlation, the Congress has to invent some. Why else would they need that huge salary? There was time that Congressmen were not full-time politicians.

I say we vote all of the incumbents out. If voting for the "lesser of two evils" means sending a message to our representatives, then so be it. I have stated in the past that voting for the lesser of two evils is still voting for evil, therefore, I'll probably vote for third parties. As I see it, there really is not any difference in the two parties anymore. The only difference is that Democrats want to tax the rich, the top 5% of earners already pay 60% of the taxes, and the Republicans want to cut taxes. Although I am for tax cuts, I also am for pork cuts. As the election draws near, we will see how things go. I'm just not very optimistic
